"employing slightly fewer people but rewarding them more" — IMPORTANT: not a January 2026 layoff event. The 55 figure is redundancy payments made in the fiscal year ended March 2025, disclosed in Companies House accounts and reported by Sifted on Jan 5, 2026 (also covered by The Telegraph, syndicated on Yahoo Finance). Company attributed cuts to rising staff costs and a pivot away from school-leaver apprenticeships. A spokesperson mentioned AI only positively ('Companies are looking for ways to create genuine productivity improvements from their AI investments... revenue per employee is up 37%'), and Sifted never states the layoffs were because of AI — so neither AI flag is warranted despite the upstream (AI) tag.
